(GHN), Lucknow, 3rd,May, 2017. One of the things that really upset most honest hard working Indians, especially the middle and lower class about India is the corruption in society. Congress has managed to make corruption not only acceptable but even honorable. Such is the low level to which they brought the integrity of the people of India. Dishonesty has become a way of life for many businessmen and the dishonest are being rewarded instead of punished. In fact, they have the guts to protest prosecution.
In Uttar Pradesh, some petrol pumps are caught stealing and cheating the public almost 10% of the value, which is a big amount especially in petroleum products. The owners of the petrol pumps have the guts to go on strike and refuse to sell petrol to the people of Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister Shri Adityanath Yogi and the Uttar Pradesh government are forced to bow down before the dishonest Petrol Pump owners. Though, the Government has said that it will not bow down however, the question to ask is: How did the Petrol Pump owners ever have the gall to go on strike when the drive was against dishonest trade practice? The Administration has to intervene as the Petrol Pump owners alleged harassment by the police and the special task force. The administration had to placate the petrol pump owners that honest businessmen will not be harassed. Was this just a ruse by Petrol Pump owners to buy time to remove the chip that they had fitted via remote control to cheat the consumers?
If this is not the use of monopoly, coercion, and blackmail, then what is? Why is it that the monopolies commission does not wake up and take cognizance of the monopoly formed by the association of Petrol Pump owners in Uttar Pradesh to blackmail the Government? There should be Laws that ensures that essential services such as petrol pumps are answerable to the Law, the Courts, and the Central Government. The seven pumps that were caught cheating consumers by the Special Task Force have been sealed. However, the petrol pump owners who are dishonest should be severely penalized and if they all decide to go on strike, the pumps should be taken over by the Government. In fact, any petrol pump caught cheating the public should have its license revoked immediately.
If this is the state of businessmen and the legal system, then hypothetically, Say, what if Pakistan or China were to pay the petrol pump owners to create a fake strike especially at a crucial moment to try to paralyze the financial well being of the state? How can one believe in such dishonest and opportunist businessmen?
