School Principal threatened, government high school in Howrah closed down by Jihadis for failing to carry out Prophet Day celebrations

Hindu Samhati volunteers had previously fought with thousands of Jihadis to keep the school open for students in Uluberia , Howrah. No help from the state government or administration in sight yet.

The cancer of Jihad that was gaining ground in Malda, Murshidabad and Dinajpur is now fast spreading towards Kolkata. Not far away from Kolkata , in Uluberia in Howrah District, Jihadis gathered in thousands to declare that a school where a headmaster had prevented the Jihadis from carrying out with their agenda of Nabi Diwas (Prophet’s Birthday) celebration will not be allowed to stay open. Not only do they intend to carry out this celebration, plundering and ransacking of schools in the process which they did in this school in Uluberia but want to carry similar agenda for all Government schools. In a brazen show of disregard for the administration, noted Jihadi, Kasem Siddhiki, brother of Tawa Siddhiki had previously challenged the entire state administration from acting against him.He had also publicly threatened the school Principal from taking help of the Police to keep the school open. In a video which had gone viral, he had declared that Nabi Diwas (Mohammed’s Birthday) will be celebrated in all government schools and had threatened the Principal of the school with dire consequences and death threats for stopping them.

The teachers association and groups have expressed dismay over the Jihadis gaining ground in schools across West Bengal. Sabyasachi Ghosh , a teacher himself said,”What is happening in this school in Uluberia , Howrah must be stopped immediately. Previously Jihadis had control over Madrassas, now they are taking over Government schools as well. This is dangerous”. Similar sentiments are being echoed by parents and teachers alike in the state. They are all shell shocked by the turn of developments.
